Unemployment Compensation Hearings and Appeals:

If you are denied unemployment benefits after your employment has been terminated or after the conditions of employment have become so unbearable that you leave such employment, you may appeal that decision to an appeals examiner in New Jersey and a referee in Pennsylvania.   The burden to prove grounds for disqualification rests with the employer but it is important that the employee preserve his/her rights and receive the benefits to which s/he is entitled.

In October of 2013, I had contacted Ken Sandler for a letter I had received from the NJ Unemployment board advising me that my previous employer had filled a motion to have me pay back my unemployment benefits because they felt that I was terminated and that I just up and quit. After explaining to Ken that, he took on the case and immediately went to work on my case. He was diligent in his work and was always keeping me up to date on where we were in the case. When the day of the hearing came, he was to the point and after a few weeks, got a verdict in my favor. Ken Sandler is so easy to work with, if you ever leave a message or email him, he will get back to you promptly and answer any questions you might have, just as he did with me. I Highly recommend him as a Employment lawyer.
